There's been some shock parking news from Morrisons in Ormskirk - and it's not going to please many people.

According to a store insider, it's planning to REDUCE its current three hour parking limit by an hour; QLocal's Roger Blaxall will be approaching the Morrisons PR office this morning for a comment and clarification on the proposed move.

Well! they could use the bus station car park but then again this car park is earmarked for student accommodation. It seem to be Labour Party policy to turn the Town Centre into an anex of the University. St Helens Road, the Indoor Market, Church Street, now the bus station and not a single one with any car parking and not one for residential use.

Just how is this designed to help Ormskirk or the tax paying residents.

Enough is enough! And if this wasn’t enough they want to develop high grade green belt land to build what they laughingly call a village development. When it should read, another over spill development for Liverpool.

You gets what you vote for.

I'm sure the original planning permission granted to Safeway when they built this store stipulated the car park had to be free, partly because they were allowed to use part of Coronation Park to build the car park. The size of the car park was seen as being necessary to serve the supermarket as well as the town centre. That was part of the original agreement of the planning permission. Taking this into account they should not be allowed to charge as it is, but reducing the time further must go further against this planning permission still?

Hatred?? How do you make that out? It would appear that he is criticising town planning. Should shoppers or students take priority? Who subscribe more to the economy?
