Horse, stable door, bolted springs to mind! Both parties over the past 20 years seem to have done their level best to destroy the heritage and the towns architecture. There’s not very much left to get excited about, you could always show them the old police station. I’d forgotten, that’s all boarded up and beginning to rapidly deteriorate, However on the other side of the road we have the old bank building, arr that’s closing in Nov. The Cottage Hospital arr! that’s also in a mess. There must be something left! Well we do have the good old church, (did you know the Church has a Tower and a steeple), and the market! Apart from that coffee shops, bars, empty shops. Assuming That is in the evening you don’t mind wading through pools of spew, pee, discarded food and not a single public toilet open anywhere!
I remember a few years ago going to many meeting concerning the upgrading of Ormskirk Town Centre and the Council paying large amounts of our money to have consultants look at the issues and devise a plan! And what a fantastic plan they developed, just look at what we ended up with. What a complete wast of our money! Ineptitude rules! If it was any other type of business you would be tempted to say it’s not fit for purpose! And you would be right to say so!
Opened by the Mayor! If this lot had their way it would all be student accommodation and drinking holes for students. It seem that the ruling Labour Party think it’s a good idea too fill the town with students and build more houses on valuable agricultural land!
