Skid marks on the verge tell their own story following a two car crash at the junction of Yew Tree Road and County Road this teatime.
Fortunately there were no serious injuries in the accident which saw County Road closed for its half mile stretch to Scott Drive from 6pm to 8.30pm.
Three police cars attended the crash which involved a FIAT Punto and Mercedes Benz E class which left the road and hit a lamp post that's now been removed by LCC highways workmen.
Both cars are write offs after the incident; ironically the new warning trailer reminding drivers of the 30 limit that's parked up by the Cherry House Chinese restaurant hasn't been switched on for the last few nights...
Locals are caling for average speed cameras on the 30 mph stretch which is around a mile and half long from just before the Fiveways junction to High Lane on the Ormskirk/Burscough border.
