Stan Strickland, secretary of Burscough Football Club during those 'glory years' leading up to winning the FA Trophy at Villa Park, has written a book of his experiences during his 25 years in semi-pro football.
It tells of his thirteen years with Burscough before moving on to his later involvement with Anglesey club Glantraeth FC where he attracted worldwide publicity by persuading Hollywood movie star Naomi Watts to become the club president.
‘Don’t Screw Up Hon. Sec. - The Omnidirectional Ramblings of a Non-League Football Secretary’ is available on Amazon as a Kindle download for only £2.50.
