Local fundraisers have launched a new Christmas challenge - and ho ho hope you can help!

They're asking everyone to help Santa get to Ormskirk from the North Pole this year while raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The 'Yellow Fellows' - local supporters of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - couldn't hold their popular 3k Fun Run at Edge Hill this year and instead are calling on the local community to 'Step out for Santa'.

Everyone can get involved - simply walk, run, cycle, or pram push any distance you wish then log it on the Facebook page 'Step out for Santa' and your distance will be passed on to Santa to help him make the long journey from the North Pole; his progress will also be tracked on the page!

Then simply donate to the charity by finding 'Santa's Steppers' on Virgin Money via this link

'Yellow Fellow' Margaret Ellams told QLocal this evening: “Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic condition which attacks the lungs and digestive system.

"We're raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust with our new Step out for Santa event.

"Unfortunately we've been unable to hold our annual Fun Run but think that this new event will bring some festive cheer to our community while helping a great cause.

"We really want to see all the festive photos on our Facebook page so please join us and help us tackle this condition while having fun and getting fit for Christmas!
