Emotional Edge Hill students have been speaking to QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall this evening about how they raised the alarm after one of their friends wasn't seen around campus or in lectures.
Concerned for her welfare, they knocked on her room in Chancellors Court repeatedly before reporting their fears to EHU security staff who broke in to find the 19-year-old's body.
Police and NWAS were then called to the scene at around 6pm on Wednesday afternoon; a police PR officer said: "We were called at 18.12pm on October 30, to reports of a sudden death an address on St Helen’s Road, Ormskirk.
"Officers attended and sadly found the body of a woman inside the property.
"The woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
"Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this incredibly difficult time."
