The busiest shop in Ormskirk yesterday?

It had to be The Works which has finally opened in the town after three years of looking for a suitable premises.

Bosses revealed that they had considered the former Home Bargains store - now Nordico Lounge - and the former Samuel's jewellery shop before snapping up New Look which closed on Moor St. a few months ago.

It's taken them just a few weeks to transform the shop and yesterday customers were there in their droves at the newcomer, one of three stores opened this week joining Hull and Ryde on the IOW.

And QLocal - unlike the Champion and Advertiser - has been the only media outlet to publicise some rare good news from the town centre with reporter Roger Blaxall delighted to be invited to yesterday morning's opening.
