MP Rosie Cooper has told of her fight for justice for local 'WASPI's'
Pictured at a meeting at the Bull and Dog on Friday, she was keeping mum about a major policy announcement at the weekend with Labour's now pledging to help affected women, many facing hardship following recent Government rulings.
Said Rosie: “The decision to accelerate the rise in the women’s state pension age has had a devastating impact on many women in West Lancashire who were born in the 1950s, some of whom are now facing hardship and destitution as a result.
“Nationally, 2.5 million women affected did not have fair notification of the changes and they deserve recognition for this injustice and transitional protections.
“These women helped to build Britain but have been let down by the Government’s pensions changes. The Government has refused to help the WASPI women.
“I look forward to working with the newly formed Burscough WASPI group as we continue our campaign for justice.”
