Was a low winter sun one contributory factor in what's turned out to be a fatal RTA on a country road in Scarisbrick?
That's one theory Police will be working on after a Bursough pensioner sadly died following the New Year's day accident at 3.30 pm. near the Heaton's Bridge pub.
These are exclusive pictures of the accident scene - the Audi SQ5 was travelling towards Burscough when it left the road; Margaret Pemberton, 85, from Burscough was a passenger inside the car and was subsequently taken to Aintree Hospital after suffering broken ribs, back and head injuries - she sadly passed away in hospital on Thursday, January 10th.
Her family paid the following tribute to her: “A beautiful, elegant, fun loving, vivacious mum, nan, great nan and friend who lived life to the full. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.”
Officers are asking any witnesses to come forward. Sgt Phil Baxendale said: “My thoughts remain with Margaret’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
“If you saw the collision, please come forward and speak to us.”
You can call 101 quoting incident reference 1346 of January 1st
