After the huge success of its 'Battle of the Bands' competition in June, Sound Affects Studios are hosting Summer camps over the course of 4 weeks from 30th July until 20th August.

They'll run daily from 9am-3pm and will be led by an expert mentor. The aim - to write and record a song with a band and produce a CD to take home at the end; throughout the week, the groups will learn key skills to improve their overall general musicianship, delving into how music works, and will participate in workshops specialising in song writing, performance skills and creating their own composition.

The camp aims to not only aid participants in composing their own song, but to broaden their musical knowledge across the board and really understand how music works through knowledge of orchestration, harmony, timbre, song writing, structure and rhythm. Participants will gain essential skills through the exploration of music, whilst working alongside other like-minded young musicians to compose their own piece throughout the week.

The last day and a half of the camp will be spent in Sound Affects newly refurbished professional recording studio. Those who attend the camps will experience what it is like to spend the day in a professional studio environment whilst recording their own song!
