Work has started at Jones Homes’ second development in Rufford - and it's not without controversy.
As work draws to a close at the housebuilders’ Roseacre Gardens in the village, the foundations are being laid for Hesketh Reach, a development of 29 homes on land off Liverpool Road.
Some locals on Liverpool Road are concerned about the new development's junction with the A59 - and said as much at a recent planning meeting when plans were passed.
A range of three and four-bedroom homes will be built on the one-hectare site, and Jones Homes will contribute £80,000 to support local education and will pay £245,000 to the local authority as a Community Infrastructure Levy.
Sales Director for Jones Homes Lancashire, Carol Barlow, said: “Jones Homes has been building in Rufford since 2016, when we launched Roseacre Gardens. These executive family homes created the first new development for the village in 20 years.
“Its success led Jones Homes to commit to further investment in Rufford and we recently completed on the purchase of land for Hesketh Reach.
“The variety of homes on offer at Hesketh Reach will offer opportunities for a wider range of people to buy a new home in Rufford. We expect these to appeal to first-time buyers, growing families, people moving up the ladder and early interests suggests there are people wanting to downsize to a new home.
“Help to Buy will be available at the development. It enables people to buy a new home with a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage, with the remainder supplied as a government-backed equity loan.
“Roseacre Gardens has established Jones Homes as the developer of choice in Rufford and we look forward to welcoming more people to our homes at Hesketh Reach.”
As Jones Homes continues to expand its footprint in Lancashire, the firm recently opened the doors to St Peter’s Park in nearby Mawdesley, a development of four and five-bedroom homes; for more information on either development, visit jones-homes.co.uk.
