New mayor of West Lancashire Terry (Yank) Aldridge officially opened a Burscough care home – in a socially distanced celebration!
Terry Aldridge joined Cllr Gaynar Owen and Cllr Noel Delaney to open Lily Wharf Lodge, on Liverpool Road South, on July 14, before enjoying a French breakfast to celebrate Bastille Day with residents.
They then went on a tour of the home: QLocal's still trying to discover what parking arrangements will be at the home on the busy main road:

The owners have clearly prioritised client quantity ahead of either safe access and convenient parking. One of my neighbours was killed at that very spot in the seventies. (RIP Mr B.) They put in a pelican crossing, but that's long gone now. God help any resident or visitor that tries to cross that road.
