A young biker was left stunned and dazed after being thrown from her machine this morning at the busy fire station roundabout.

She received minor leg injuries after hitting a pothole in the middle of the carriageway; two passing drivers stopped to offer aid before the Police arrived.

Her bike was slightly damaged to the rear; one of two ladies who attended her, a care assistant, took a photo of the pothole to send to the county council.

Said another: "It was lucky a wagon, tractor or car wasn't directly behind her.

"She's had a lucky escape."

The whole of the incident was recorded on the nearby CCTV camera monitoring traffic at the busy entrance to Ormskirk.
