I was pottering around the house and garden with the family and I happened to go to out of my front gate and look down the road as I heard a lot of thunder.

I was up at Tesco at Kew when I saw them earlier! Everyone was out taking pics! Managed to get a few on my phone and a couple of videos!! They were amazing to watch!!

How long did they last for ? From exif data Im working it out as well over 5 mins

they were about a couple of minutes each i think as they started breaking up however kept reforming. cant really remember as didnt really pay much attention to time. the last one lasted agggges. thats the long bendy one in the pics. funny cos i saw them from the opposite angle... basically reversed

Just looked at the times of my pics on my phone - I took the first pic at 2.06pm when I first came out of Tesco (so they could have been going on before that) and the last one at 2.21pm when it disappeared.

They were amazing to watch! Never seen anything like that before! Everyone was parking up and taking pics and phoning people, it was amazing!

i was right down new lane when it started to come over,it looked amazing across the fields .
