Former West Lancashire Leisure Services Director Dave Tilleray has featured in the national press for his retirement severance package of £337,351.
John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, speaking to the Daily Mail, commented: "Despite many in the public sector facing a much-needed pay freeze to help bring the public finances under control, many town hall bosses are continuing to pocket huge remuneration packages, with staggering pay-outs for those leaving their jobs.
"There are talented people in the public sector who are trying to deliver more for less, but the sheer scale of these packages raise serious questions about efficiency and priorities."
A previous large payment in 2017/18 cost WLBC council tax payers £260,000.

Why quote the so called tax payers alliance. They do not represent the majority of taxpayers and they refuse to name who funds them. As for the story, there is not enough detail to make a considered comment.
