This FB report of a weekend operation in Ormskirk town centre by local police which was very successful:
'You may have noticed an extra police presence during your well-deserved nights out in Ormskirk Town Centre on Friday and Saturday night. This was down to a Taskforce lead operation which was created to conduct checks on licensed premises in the area and proactively tackle underage drinking, drug use and anti-social behaviour. Over the two days we have been supported by our local neighbourhood policing team, officers from the special constabulary and everyone’s favourites the police dogs and their handlers. During the operation over 30 stop searches were conducted which uncovered several varied amounts of Class A and B drugs as well as a knife, all of which have been seized. Further to this over £2,000 in cash was seized from a male who was arrested for possession with intent to supply. We continue to act on information and intelligence from the local community about illegal activity in our area. If you have any information about criminals or criminal activity in your area please report it to us via 101, our online reporting service or by ringing crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.' #NHPTaskForce #SBTaskForce
